IN THE CUP
We’re thrilled to share a coffee that holds a very personal connection to Vacation Coffee. Our Co-Founder, Jimmy Tjoeng—originally from Indonesia and a lifelong coffee enthusiast—has always dreamed of seeing Indonesian coffee celebrated on the world stage for its exceptional quality. This coffee is a true reflection of that vision. Brewed as a filter, it is mellow and refined, with delicate notes of apricot and a subtle touch of boysenberry. As an espresso, it takes on a sweeter, jammy profile, highlighted by rich cranberry notes. We believe this is a coffee that truly stands out, and we’re excited for you to experience it.
STORY BEHIND THE CUP
This coffee comes from a small mill in the Pegasing district of Takengon, in Sumatra’s renowned Aceh region. The mill is run by Cup of Excellence winner Asman Arianto and supports several small producers from the Pantan Musara villages. Several years ago, these producers were displaced from their homes and land by a natural disaster. Since then, they have rebuilt their lives and farms with a renewed focus on coffee. Unlike most receiving and processing centers in Sumatra, the Asman Gayo mill produces both Washed and Natural coffees, showcasing a unique approach within the region.
