IN THE CUP
Costa Rica Hermosa Tarrazú is rich, comforting and beautifully balanced. As a filter, it offers smooth notes of praline and Medjool dates, finishing with lingering dark chocolate sweetness and a silky body. As an espresso, the cup becomes deeper and more indulgent, with rich praline, concentrated dark chocolate and luscious date-like sweetness, delivering a full-bodied, velvety finish.
STORY BEHIND THE CUP
Nestled in the lush hills of Costa Rica's renowned Tarrazú region, Costa Rica Hermosa Tarrazú is produced by Coopedota, a pioneering cooperative at the heart of the Santa María de Dota community. Established in 1960, Coopedota has grown to more than 900 producer members, providing coffee processing, financing and export support while championing sustainability and education for future generations of coffee growers.
Grown between 1,450 and 1,900 metres above sea level, the region's cool climate and Pacific-influenced rainfall create ideal conditions for producing exceptional coffees. Cherries are carefully sorted and fully washed at Coopedota's central mill before being dried to preserve clarity and sweetness in the cup. As the world's first CO₂-neutral certified coffee producer and roastery, Coopedota continues to lead the way in sustainable coffee production while investing in its local community and the future of Costa Rican coffee.
